Field Trip to the Allis Care Center

We had a wonderful day for our field trip to the Allis Care Center. It was a gorgeous walk to and from the Center. There were so many awesome Halloween decorations in the neighborhood to look at. I was very proud of the way students were respectful, kind, patient and polite to everyone they met at the nursing home. Students learned a lot about the residents through an interview, gave residents cards and read to residents. Ask your student about who they met today! 

Buddies

This year room 205 is buddies with the fifth graders from Ms. Wilke's class. Students read to each other, complete activities and get to know each other. Ask you child who their buddy is this year! 

Library Time

Every Friday room 205 goes to the Wilson library. Students get to check out two books a week; one fiction, one non-fiction. Please remind students to bring their library books back every Friday! 

Fire Prevention Week

This week was fire prevention week! Students had an assembly, got to meet fire fighters, see two fire trucks, practice a fire drill at school and brush up on their fire safety knowledge. Major points that the West Allis fire department told students to implement was checking fire alarms at home and creating a family plan for what to do if there was a fire at home. Make sure your family has an escape plan and a meeting place in case of a fire.
